FOMC rate decision due Wednesday 7th May at 19:00BST/14:00EDT, with Chair Powell press conference from 19:30BST/14:30EDT. The Central Bank is widely expected to hold rates at 4.25-4.50%. Attention will continue to reside on commentary of the Trump tariff impacts and the guidance the central bank has to offer, where they are very likely to reiterate its wait-and-see approach.
